How to use Github Triggers

This feature allows users to connect with prospects through github. The connection message will be related to either your repository or other companies repository.

Github Own - Prospects found through the use of your own repository

Github Other - Prospects found through repositories of companies who work with similar solutions

  1. From the home page, click on the Profile Settings tab

  1. From there, click Triggers at the top of the screen.

  1. Scroll down until you see the area for Github Triggers, now you have two options - Github Own or Github Other

  1. Github Own - This allows you to enter your own company’s Github repository, and create a trigger based off of your work. If someone has checked out your repository, the connection message will be along the lines of “Hey I saw you are using some of our code, I would love to connect”

  1. Github Other - This option allows you to enter the Github repository of a company with alternative solutions, and use that as a trigger. Say you are Google, and there is a prospect who is using a repository from Bing, the connection message will be something like - “Hey I saw you are using a code from (name of company), I feel we may have similar interests and would love to connect.

  • You can also add multiple other company repositories by clicking +Add Another under the URL.
